There are some exceptions, but in a LOT of the old school Slasher films, this is actually a strange rule in that couples with the same colour hair go together: Friday the 13th part 2 (heroine Giny played by Amy Steel goes with Paul the lead male), Friday the 13th part 8 (Renne and Sean have roughly the same hair colour), plus a lot of indie films where in Brunettes stick with fellow Brunettes, ect ...
