probably because its just wasted effort to account for the transient speed up state, ie not constant velocity, since its only a little while.

Why can the 3D image not be more stable on spinup? Is the spin counter not tied to the program? Is it just a dummy spin counter that provides regulated feedback to keep the motor at a certain RPM?
