NY Timing? LA Timing? What do you mean? In New York they don't do on 1. And are you taking 2 steps back when you begin on Salsa on 2? How is that. I understand the counting but not the stepping. Are 4 and 8 still pauses?

I don't see what everyone's talking about this is exactly on count it's just as apersaud said, they're dancing on 2

they're not even going with the rythm, they may be doing the steps well, but they have no swing.

The steps are basically the same. For NY on2, the leads start going backwards instead of the lady. Dancing on2 means you break on the beats 2 and 6 (which are directly correlated to the congas and the clave). Check out some of our other videos for more examples. We also have audio episodes on our website that help you find the beat.

I still don't understand Salsa on 2. I know you mention that there is a slight difference. But what is the difference? Which foot do you start with? Do you move forward or back? I understand the counting the numbers but not the stepping? Please explain this as simple is possible. WHich is better or preferred; salsa1 or salsa2?

In the introduction we are dancing on2 (NY) timing. We explain the move on the on1 (LA) timing.

no sense of timing.. In the beginning they're just running and walking without any timing... Didn't like it...
