I grew up in the flooring business. My dad bought a manual or hand powered stretcher similiar in design in 1968. The stretcher pulls on the tack strip in one direction while the carpet head pulls in the opposite direction. Therefore, the tack strip must be properly nailed and well secured to the floor or the force of the stretcher will pop the tack strip from the floor. I wish I had an air stretcher when I used to lay carpet. Awesome invention. Thank you for your video.
