Whenever someone makes a claim I find contradicted by data, I find it useful to refer readers to the data rather than asking them to referee a YouTube argument. Anyone wondering whether the Earth is warming or cooling should visit climate trend sites - HadCRUT3, NCDC, GISS, UAH, RSS. I judge them to show both recent warming and long term warming (driven primarily by CO2), but readers should draw their own conclusions. youre right markbotv3, the earth is cooling. Alaskan glaciers are growing for the first time since the Little Ice Age. The earth goes through warming and cooling cycles. A natural warming cycle just ended and now a natural cooling cycle is beginning. So in a few years we're going to be hearing all the alarmism from people like grastog about a coming ice age where were all going to freeze to death unless we change the way we live--as if humans could control climate.

its simple people...read your bibles,god clearly states that "I will never again destroy the world by flood" after the whole noahs ark affair. so either god is right,or al gore is right. its one or the other. if seattle and san francisco are under 35 feet of water within the next 11 years as al gore predicts then god is not real. if however they are NOT under 35 ft of water in 11 years then global warming is a hoax,god is real, and al gore will spend eternity in hell fire. lets see who wins

Many viewers may be less interested in refereeing YouTube arguments than understanding evidence underlying CO2-driven anthropogenic warming. Extensive data are found in the literature (GRL, PNAS, J. Climate, etc.), but web sources can be Googled for a start - "Global Warming" for a wikipedia overview plus references, "Greenhouse Effect" for basic physics, "Climate Book" for mathematically rigorous analysis, and "Lean Rind 2008" for a recent paper with model-independent CO2 confirmatory data.

my conclusion is proof of climate changing hotter or colder does not prove CO2 plays any role. the only result of reducing CO2 is toxic diesel smoke and mercury filled light bulbs being promoted as 'green'.

It's hard to see the point of arguing when viewers can visit all the climate sites themselves - HadCRUT3, NCDC, GISS, UAH, RSS. I judge them to show recent warming, as well as a long term CO2-driven warming trend punctuated by typical short term ups and downs, all consistent with the basic CO2 forcing as the long term factor. However, anyone visiting these sites should draw his or her own conclusions.
