I agree w/you up until "the easy way out." It isn't easy living by the Bible. Hence hypocrites. I quit trying. I'd say if anything it's an excuse as to how act...instead of making decisions for themselves people blame their religion. I stop letting church throw me on guilt trips long ago.

yeah but being from the south seeing how ppl will fuck their cousins to keep the blood "pure" wouldn't surprise me that most "Christians" would rather say Cain married his sister than to believe there were other people on Earth and Adam was not the 1st man. Im a Christian but I am very reasonable. I've done a lot of reasearch on the Bible and I think it's a cultural way of life from beginning of time.

The bible is infallible but what is fallible is the people that read it and try to interpret it anyway they want to justify their own behavior.
