Elvis Costello is one of the great artists of our time. The combination of his music, his lyrical poetry and his voice are hard to match. If you haven't heard his cover of "God Only Knows" live with the Brodsky Quartet, track it down, it's one of the greatest vocal pop performances I've ever heard.

I recently got turned on to this song and it stuck with me. Good solid song and good performance. I can see how he began to gain popularity. Still not into his music too much...but this is a solid gateway to check the rest out.

This is very cool. Thanks for posting. One day in about 1984, I was walking by the Fox theater in Atlanta. They had a stage doorthat opened to the rear alley. EC was onstagepracticing. I walked in and stood there for 45 mins watching before a security guard made me leave. |
