To Novokarpati: If by "the church" you are speaking of the Catholic faith, then yes. In my years of studying scripture I've yet to come across sufficient or convincing evidence to suggest the "perpetual" virginity or supposedly sinless life of Mary. In fact the very idea of it is counter-intuitive to the gospel of grace and the teachings of Jesus, Paul, and Peter. If its accepted Cannon that the wages of sin is death... and Mary is no longer among the living. Well, do the math.

Interesting that the Church keeps the Tradition that Ever-Virgin Mary, did in fact know that she was the Chosen One to bear the Lifegiver, Christ God Himself. A careful listen to the lyrics reveals a reformationist understanding of the ancient Truth, a schismatic rendering of the Truth of Holy Tradition and Scripture. There is as much evidence for Christ being the youngest of the 'brothers', really half brothers, than the 'oldest'.! No less than Luther, Zwingli, Calvin and Wesley knew this..!
