Actually, it was called the Fujita Scale, named after the scientist Ted Fujita in 1971. This scale was replaced in 2007 by the EFS or the Enhanced Fujita Scale due to inaccuracies about the wind speeds inside stronger twisters. Wikipedia has more info on this subject.

The fujitsu (spelled correct?) scale measures wind speed, not girth or size. Could be an F-3...?
