I waited almost a half hour for this song to download, usually it takes only a few seconds, but it was worth waiting to hear again.

I think "Change" was from his solo work. Could be wrong, though. Yes, John had some serious 80's hair going on there, esp. for the "When I See You Smile" video. But, you know, all those 80's glam/metal/hard rock acts had the big and hairsprayed do's. For anyone who did not live through that era, I am sure the look appears ridiculous. Even those who did live through it (and maybe even adopted that hairstyle themselves. lol)think that that particular hair trend was laughable.

I actually did check out the vids you mentioned....and actually laughed out loud at Waite's hairstyles - especially with Bad English. (they had quite a stellar lineup of talent in that band). But my favorite stuff from Waite was this song, 'Isn't It Time' and 'Change'....maybe those 2 were from his Baby's period. ....always a good writer though!

Well, don't just defer to me. Check out Waite's prior work right here on Youtube to arrive at your own assessment. I assume from your username, that you are from New York. Me, too. You have that NY trait of speaking your mind and quite definitively. LOL.

I'll defer to your opinion with regard to Waite's vocal abilities....surely he doesn't have them now. But I must say this is a very charming duet with Alison's lovely voice and Waite's....errrr....singing.

I disagree. I don't think his vocals here in this duet are that great (maybe age has something to do with it), but his vocal prowess in his earlier solo work and his hits with Bad English (When I See you Smile, Price of Love) was incredible. At least that is my opinion.

Waite was not a one-hit wonder, but this was his only number 1 single on the Billboard chart and most memorable song. It has been over 20 years since his version came out, so why not introduce this gem to younger fans and the country demographic? I see nothing wrong with that at all. You just don't sound like a Waite fan, which is fine.

Waite actually had many, many hits....and is a very good writer. His vocal skills however were never very strong....
